Chef Belinda’s Creole Mary

One of the drinks that defines the brunch culture, the Bloody Mary, is purported to be the ultimate hangover cure. The blackened seasoning adds a new layer of flavor to this honored all-time favorite!
Ingredients

12 ounces peppered vodka

24 ounces tomato juice
-
1 1⁄2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

2 lemons, juiced

Pinch of freshly grated horseradish

1 1⁄2 teaspoons Blackened Spice Blend (Chef Belinda Spices) or Cajun seasoning

6 lemon or lime wedges, for garnish

6 celery stalks, for garnish
Instructions

In a blender, mix vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, horseradish, and blackened spice and pour into a pitcher. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Fill highball glasses with ice and use lemon or lime twists to flavor the glass rims. Fill with vodka and tomato juice mixture and add desired garnishes.

If using an unflavored vodka, add 1 1 ⁄ 2 teaspoons Tabasco or dash of cayenne pepper to the vodka and tomato mixture.

Additional garnishes may include pickled okra or green beans, jalapeño or pepperoncini peppers, dill pickle spears, green olives, crispy bacon slices, seasoned boiled shrimp, and cherry or grape tomatoes.
